I thought it was ok, but I don't think the writing is quite as good as it used to be. The show is still very popular in terms of ratings, but I really think that the writers are beginning to run out of ideas or situations for the characters.

I think that this is a sign that the series is near the end, I really hope next year is the last season.

It was decently written with a few surprises ("Oh...my....god...ehehehehehe") but the final moment was dopey. Why would Joey just sit there holding the ring and stare? It wasn't a normal act, PLUS the fact that he just sits there stammering!! Instead of "No, no, wait a minute..."

Cliffhangers need to set up a situation that will carry for awhile when the show resumes. Like Rachel at the airport in the first year, or Ross picking which room to walk into at the end of the other. When Ross and Rachel came out of the chappel at the end of the '99 year, I was like "Oh, they'll just shake that off as a mistake" which they did. Rachel being pregnant was already given away and not a big huge thing for this season. And now Ross will look through the room window in the door and be like what the hell? Joey will get up and Ross will propose (my guess). No biggie.

Dramatic endings that dealt with romance were the best for me.

I think they should have bucked tradition and skipped the surprise cliffhanger.
It would have been nice if they ended it with Rachael and her baby, with her relationship with Ross still up in the air.

I agree with you...I thought the cliff hanger was good to keep fans tuned in but I didn't really like the fact that we have to wait til the start of the next season to find out what happens. I also thought the Joey and Rachel thing was over...I think in the end Ross and Rachel should get married.

It was the best episode yet! But, I wonder, who is she going to marry? Joey or Ross? Joey didn't even really propose! Well G2G

I MISSED THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF THE SHOW!

I had taped it, but it got shut off early, so I missed whatever the "cliffhanger" part must have been. My wife and I couldn't believe it when suddenly we saw a "blue screen" after watching the first 50 minutes of the hour show.

What was end of the show and the "cliffhanger" ??

Thanks so much.

Well remember that ring that Ross got. well Rachel asked for a tissue and Joey was on his knees to get a tissue out of Ross's coat and the ring fell out and Joey like I said was on his knees and surprised by the ring and he turned to Rachel to show her the ring and she thought he was asking her to marry him. so she said ok. And that was it, so the cliffhanger is, is Joey gonna tell Rachel that the ring fell out of the pocket and he wasn't gonna ask her to marry him or is he gonna lie.

If that is to difficult to understand you could always watch Friends in repeats during the summer.

I liked the finale. I thought it was one of the better episodes this season. The cliffhanger will definitely keep fans tunes in.
