Which was better?
Pulling the axle off Lumpy’s car or pouring melted ice cream in Eddie’s sweater and Lumpy’s head. When Wally and Eddie ring the woman’s doorbell and ask to use her phone because their car broke down she lets them in and then leaves the room. Would you? |

1963--a different world than 2017.
Of course, today he would have just pulled out his phone. As for the first question, the Practical Joke episode is on of the funniest of the series (and, one that TV Land often skipped, for unknown reasons). Wally and Eddie never anticipated the car would detach from the rear axle, of course--jokes can often go awry. |

That scene when Eddie and Wally come to her door and are let in with no thought reminds me of the futuristic film A Clockwork Orange when Alex and his droogs tell a woman there’s been an accident and his friend is bleeding in the road. The woman tells him he’ll have to go to the town and call she can’t let them in. She does however and regrets it.
You are right 1963 is a lot different from 2017. Right take out cell phone. I always love when Lumpy zooms off and his axle decides to stay. |
