Default Season 6

Finishing watching all the episodes of the whole series. Up to the middle of season six. Overall rewatching the series it's pretty consistent. If an episode involves the 6 or 7 of the recurring cast its usually watchable to extremely good.
Season six is another story. It does have some terriffc episodes. Though in this timeframe Bob newhart missed quite a few shows off touring with Don rickles..These episodes with him gone are rough to get through. It does give Suzanne Pleshette more screentime which is good. She really looks at her best , slim, tan , and hair pulled back.
It's also the emergence of dick martin directing the show and it coincides with newharts absence giving him a rough task to meet the shows high standards which he fails many of his episodes directing.
Maybe season six will end with a bang but the dick martin newhart missing episodes I can't watch in one viewing only able to stomach 10 minutes or so at a time.
It's a shame the show had this painful stretch in a mostly consistent otherwise run.

Season 6 is fascinating. Especially when Bob Newhart is gone. Fascinating yes when he's gone but funny no. The supporting ensemble is given more time on screen with Newhart gone. It's great to see them in an expanded role. But the shows without Newhart are just common place. Each show without him has a little snippet where he appears usually by phone And they're usually pretty hilarious.

The two shows with the prisoners smell of a failed pilot idea I agree. But the two shows are kind of far apart which is interesting.

Even with maybe 10 Clunkers throughout the series it's an amazingly consistent show. That's a pretty good average for all the shows they made.

The real high-quality shows the last couple of years you can really notice how they let Bob Newhart's character really open up more. That added a lot of zaniness to the show.

Finished up season 6 from the very first episode. Was a lot of fun with many laughs.
My next stop is password plus 79.One of my streaming services has 40 episodes.
Marcia Wallace and tony Randall appear soon.
I'd still like to see bill daily in a thinking required gameshow to see if his matchgame ineptness was an act.
