Rebecca Rittenhouse & Morgan Spector to Co-Star in Potential Gina Torres "Suits" Offshoot

Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Mindy Project) and Morgan Spector (The Mist) have been tapped for major roles opposite Gina Torres in USA Network’s proposed "Suits" spin-off, sources say.

I’ve learned that the duo have been cast as guest stars in the "Suits" Season 7 finale, which will serve as a backdoor pilot for a potential offshoot series centered around Torres’ powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson, and set in the world of Chicago politics.




Rittenhouse and Spector will play two of the three new key characters that will be introduced in the "Suits" finale that are expected to continue as regulars should the project goes to series.

I hear Spector will play Mayor Bobby Golec, the handsome, charismatic, and enigmatic working class Mayor of Chicago, who is up for re-election in 6 months.

Rittenhouse will play Keri Allen. Born and raised in Chicago, Keri is a driven and ambitious city attorney, and the unofficial right hand to the mayor.

Simon Kassianides Joins Potential "Suits" Spin-off

British actor Simon Kassianides (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been cast opposite Gina Torres, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Morgan Spector in USA Network’s proposed "Suits" spin-off.

He will guest star in the Season 7 finale, which will serve as a backdoor pilot for the possible spin-off, and is expected to be a series regular should the project go to series.

Kassianides will play a mysterious tough guy with ties to both the Mayor and Chicago’s biggest developer.

Bethany Joy Lenz Among Quartet Series Regulars Cast in "Suits" Spin-off

USA Network and Universal Cable Prods. have rounded out the cast of the cast of the upcoming "Suits" spin-off series starring Gina Torres.

Coming on board as series regulars are Bethany Joy Lenz (One Tree Hill), who will be playing a main character in a recasting, as well as Chantel Riley (Wynonna Earp), Isabel Arraiza (The Oath) and Eli Goree (Riverdale).

They join Torres and fellow series regulars Simon Kassianides and Morgan Spector. The series is starting production in Los Angeles.





The project was introduced in the Season 7 finale of "Suits", which served as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off. It featured four main characters at the center of the offshoot, played by Torres, Kassianides, Spector and Rebecca Rittenhouse.

The role played by Rittenhouse in the backdoor pilot is being recast with Lenz. Riley will reprise a character that she played as a guest star in the backdoor pilot, while Arraiza and Goree play new characters.





Lenz is Keri Allen. Born and raised in Chicago, Keri is a driven, ambitious city attorney serving as unofficial right hand to the mayor.

Riley is Angela Cook. A certified Nursing Assistant and Jessica’s cousin, Angela is suspicious of Jessica’s sudden altruism. She is preoccupied with taking care of her two sons, protecting her mother and staying connected to her community.

Arraiza is Yoli Castillo, Jessica’s passionate assistant who will learn from the best how to most effectively channel her intensity.

Gore is Derrick Mayes. Bobby’s young press secretary and a former journalist, Derrick got into politics to make a difference but struggles with the reality of what it takes to do so.
