“Doppelgängers are a big part of the story,” director Debbie Allen says of Thursday’s episode, which will feature patients who are a reminder of past doctors like George O’Malley, Cristina Yang and even Izzie Stevens. “I call this episode our Hubble Telescope, where you can look into the past and the future at the same time,” she adds.
