"Fringe" Alum John Noble to Voice Big Bad Mallus on "Legends of Tomorrow"

EW can exclusively reveal that "Fringe" alum John Noble will be lending his voice to The CW super series as Season 3 villain Mallus, who has so far been shrouded in mystery but will first be heard during Tuesday’s episode.

“That’s the big mythology of the season and what makes Mallus cool at this stage of everyone’s viewing experience is that right now he is just a name and is this whisper,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says.

“You’ll learn more about him in Episode 305.”

Here’s what we know so far:

An acolyte of Mallus resurrected Kuasa (Tracy Ifeachor) and will soon bring Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) back from the dead. Hence, Mallus has some serious power. Does this mean any past villain could be resurrected?

“Theoretically, but I don’t think we have plans to resurrect anyone else at the moment,” Guggenheim says.

John Noble to Appear on "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" as Himself

John Noble is actually going to appear in the flesh on "DC’s Legends of Tomorrow", just not in the way you’re thinking.

EW has learned exclusively that the actor, who has been voicing this season’s big bad Mallus, will appear as himself in an upcoming episode. Yes, as himself. Seriously.

As EW previously revealed, the time demon Mallus will be an entirely CG creation, hence Noble appearing in a different capacity.

“We figured out a very Legends-like way to actually get John Noble the actor into the show,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells EW. “We’re very excited that John Noble will be making a live action appearance on Legends. He’s been voicing our third season’s big bad, Mallus, but he won’t be appearing as the time demon. He’ll actually be appearing as himself. It makes total sense in a Legends-y kind of way.”

Details on when Noble will appear are being kept under wraps.
