Default Wally's car accident

Saw this episode... I thought it was good but kinda dumb in a way...

Was it ever said if Ward's company gave him a new car then he traded in the other one?

Did Ward just buy a new car? I would think he could keep the other one for Wally...

I think Wally should have just waited till his dad got home to get it fixed though....

It was a dumb thing for Wally to allow happen...

What I don't understand is the ending tag...

I don't know how to explain it as to what confused me about the tag ending.

Was Ward more mad his car got smashed up than Wally hiding it?

I mean, he just got home for pete's sake!!

I wish we saw Wally and Ward in the den talking....

Default Wally's Car Accident

2 observations about this episode......Couldn't June wait more than 2 or 3 hours to call Beaver? Eddie and Lumpy kept saying the only damage was the head lights.....look carefully and you'll see the hood was popped and some fender damage. How did Al fix all that {assuming he had the parts** and complete the job including painting by 3PM? The boys also got a real bargain for $18....Interestingly that's only $145.13 in today's dollars

Was that the one where Wally drove through a puddle or something and that's how he damage to the car? He floored it at the behest of Eddie and Lumpy?

And in the end didn't Wally get blamed for it by Ward even though he did get the car fixed? You think many kids would do that?

Yes, I noticed that extra damage, also. Also, why would just pushing a car (with a blanket, yet) cause all that damage?

Lumpy couldn't have caused that much damage.....I would think the bumpers would somewhat allign and not even be close to the headlights.......Unless he was driviing a big Lexus or Infinity SUV!!!

That was Lumpy, who drove Ward's car through a puddle, in "Lumpy's Car Trouble."

We don’t see the actual crash because it could never happen. Eddie yelled turn but when he didn’t I don't see how that headlight and hood could get damaged. They needed a way to damage the car with no injury. Al must have been a wizard to fix it by 3pm.

Just noticed another thing about this episode. At the dance Eddie said they got a push to get started to get to the dance, and of course they used the same deal at the dance, that caused all the trouble.

How was Lumpy's heap fixed by the next day when they came over the the Cleavers', and he didn't need a push then?

Good point. They just needed a good way to get the car damaged without Wally getting hurt. Eddie and Lumpy have to be involved. Once again Wally can’t just refuse to help. He’s always getting talked into things. That damage was significant and would take a long time to fix. I think just breaking the headlight was enough. Wally should have come out of the dance to find it smashed.

June was especially goofy in this one worrying about Beaver’s socks and calling constantly. They never showed the Hannys. I’m surprised they didn’t get Beaver a babysitter. Judy Walker would have cheered him up.

Also after pushing Lumpy’s car did it start moving? They’re all concerned about Wally’s broken headlight. Wonder how they got Lumpy’s heap going again? Did Eddie and Lumpy sleep in the car? Maybe Fred got out of bed and pushed it. So Lumpy staples his fan belt together, buys a battery for 75 cents, drains oil out of his father’s car, blows out his own carburetor, gets a radiator at the dump? He really needed a new used car.

LOL!

And the guy at the dump thinks they're stealing the heap!

I don’t remember but in Lumpy’s Car Trouble he comes over saying his car has some sort of problem. In Beaver the Bunny he mentions he had a good set of retreads when he has a blowout.

Another good point. I'm just trying to imagine a normal husband ready to go someplace. Their kid comes downstairs. "Tuck your shirt in. You have a hole in your sock--march upstairs and take that sock off." "Dear we're late." (Kid comes back downstairs.) "Where is your sock?" "You told me to take it off." (Husband is about to have a fit.)

For real? Who cares? And then she calls--against Ward's wishes--he's watching TV. Give it a rest!

There's an old adage--don't sweat the small stuff!

When June is telling Beaver all this stuff to do before they leave I think Beaver once again mentions Tony Curtis. “Do I have to look like Tony Curtis just hanging around the house?”
