Default Bonus Features for DVD Set Announced

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Shout Factory's list of bonus features.

NEW Interview With Mackenzie Phillips And Glenn Scarpelli
One Day At A Time Reunion
This Is It: The Story Of One Day At A Time

I am interested in seeing what the "This Is It" documentary will cover. I would have loved to have seen more content from the living members but I can live with this. I hope that Valerie was somehow included in the one of the bonus features even if she pre taped a video in the reunion with Glenn and Mackenzie.

I think the One Day at a Time reunion and This Is It: The Story of One Day at a Time are both recycled from the original Season 1/Norman Lear Collection(s). But the new interview I'm definitely looking forward to watching!!!

Kinda underwhelming.

I agree. I had no idea that the "This is It" documentary had been released before. I never bought that horrid Norman Lear DVD collection because I had already owned the first seasons of all of those shows and was not planning to double dip for a few bonus features.

I am underwhelmed because the there is only one true bonus feature on this set and it is with 2 of the people I care the least about (I like them but they weren't the best parts of the show). They could have at least included an unreleased reunion where all of them were together. They appeared on every morning show (with or without Phillips) at some point for a reunion.

The only improvement to these bonus features would be if they included the music performances that were removed from the reunion special last time around.

I am still happy about my purchase, but bonus features always determine whether a set will exceed expectations (Mama's Family DVD Set). Although unedited episodes determine what makes a great set, bonus features are what gives a DVD set even more kudos.

The unconfirmed lack of new involvement by Valerie is odd - yes. we know she's very busy with her show and book, but still....There's been conflicting reports that she did or didn't do anything new for the box set...

Just for the heck of it, I tweeted Valerie and asked her "Are you contributing to any of the "new" extras for the upcoming ODAAT DVD Set or just featured in older re-purposed material?"

Will Michael Lembeck be involved in any of the bonus features?

I doubt it. The only confirmed new material comes from Mackenzie and Glenn. Valerie and Michael may have been involved in some form but that has yet to be confirmed

I wish we could get actor commentary on various episodes. Commentary is my favorite, when you get to watch the show with the actors!

A few days until the shipping confirmation is received. Since it is supposed to get to us on or by November 14th, we should be getting confirmation as early as tomorrow or Friday.

It may be cheaper on Amazon (actual street date sometime in December), but I am glad I ordered it on Shout Factory. I can't wait to start watching.

The bonus material was sort of lacking but still good. Yesterday I watched the new reunion with Mack and Scarpelli and it was decent. I liked the little flashbacks they included.

The set in general is good! The quality is good and the music numbers seem to all be intact.

Nope, she never responded

Still her lack of involvement beyond the "archival" extra material is perplexing.

I guess she was just too busy to contribute....Logistics and all that

But then she didn't tweet anything when Della Reese died and she worked with her for two and a half seasons on "...Angel" either...
