When Eddie and Wally get the job at the dairy you hear the foreman and assistant wonder if they will cramp their style, stealing ice cream. So if this stealing had been going on before Eddie and Wally were hired how come all of a sudden the owner notices boxes of ice cream are missing? (He tells Ward on the golf course.)

The episode is horrible. The foreman should stick to playing Major Hockstetter.

I don't like it either for many reasons the least of which is how really fake Wally acts trying to get a job from Ward's buddy, Mr. Worden.
We have all mentioned how silly Wally was to put ice cream sundaes in the refrigerator and not the lower freezer. It would have been funny if Eddie says "Hey Elwood if you put them in the fridge part they'll melt all over the place and your mother will clobber me." Beaver is eating one and it's not even melted. I wonder if the foreman and his assistant got arrested? They were selling ice cream to stores on the way home? who would buy them? I think it was really Eddie's heroics that got them canned. Why is Eddie always the one to get into trouble trying to butter up the foreman? I can't get over how those boxes of ice cream and dairy products just sat on the loading dock forever without refrigeration. |

If I were to compile a (short) list of worst episodes, this one would be on mine. One great thing about LITB--even the worst episodes are watchable, and have some funny parts. Some series' bad episodes are unwatchable--like some episodes from the first season of I Love Lucy.
One thing we can probably all agree on--we really like this show! |

The ice cream was sold to stores and restaurants at a steep discount.

I recently rewatched this episode and yeah, not a great ep. The premise was ok but the execution wasn’t. Instead of playing out like a normal hilarious episode, it was done simply as a morality play really. Very heavy handed and cut in a way to go from one scene to another to show all of Eddie’s mistakes. Which again, is fine, but it’s gotta to be in that great LITB way, not in such an obvious way.

Yeah it was an episode to show Eddie’s faults starting off with wearing his expensive sport jacket and slacks the first day. Maybe he thought he’d work in the office around the secretaries. Okay Peter Lawford go get an apron.

You'd think Worden could have caught the thieves w/o Wally's help. Put some cameras up after hours. No episode then, of course!

The best parts of the ep were Beaver’s snarky side commentaries lol.

Very true! Another example, I think Beaver the Bunny was saved by Lumpy's funny lines.
