I was recently watching a documentary about The Eagles on Netflix. I think it came out a couple years before Glenn Frey died. It went into the whole history of the band up to that point and had lots of interview clips of all of the members along with some stuff from other singers as well. Towards the end of it there's an interview clip of Glenn Frey and he's talking about what he thinks made The Eagles so successful. He said something to effect of we tried to create our own style and we didn't need this or that thing and yeah there were lots of good singers back then but we had Don Henley. Which to me implies that he thought Don Henley was about the best singer there was and was even better than himself. Now for me personally I think Glenn Frey is the better singer, with very few exceptions I don't really like singers that are "gravelly" or raspy voiced like Don Henley is. And most of my favorite Eagles hits are the ones where Glenn Frey is singing lead, with the exception being Hotel California which Don Henley sings lead on, I think he's just about perfect on that one. So I just got to wondering who do you think between Don Henley and Glenn Frey is the better singer? And I'm curious to find out if there'll be a majority preference for one or the other. I mean I like Don Henley's voice on some songs but like I said in general I don't care to listen to somebody with his vocal qualities, it's just a personal preference of mine that's all. I'd also say that to me Frey's voice had a little more what I'd call "warmth" to it. So which of them do you like better?

To me, Don has the better voice.
God bless you and him always!!! Holly P.S. In my opinion, Glen only sounded better when he went solo. He sounds his best on songs like "The Heat Is On" and "How Long". |

I don't consider either of them great singers but I think Henley's far better.
