Default The Flintstones vs. The Simpsons

Which family do you like better?

For me, it's without a doubt The Flintstones. I can't stand The Simpsons.

I have not seen The Flintstones but would probably prefer them to The Simpsons. I do share Homer's love of donuts though.

The Simpsons is the best show of the 20th century imo as well as many critics and Time Magazine. It starts getting awful after the first 8 seasons, but those first 8 are amazing every time I rewatch them.

I don't think there's any contest here, The Flintstones is far superior although the main characters are basically ripped off from The Honeymooners. Fred Flintstone is Ralph Kramden, Barney Rubble is Ed Norton, Wilma is Alice and Betty is Trixie.

I don't like The Simpsons at all, I see no appeal in it whatsoever and I'm amazed at the long run it's had. What is it now, 29 seasons and still going? Shocking to say the least.

I voted for The Simpsons, but based only on the first classic eight seasons. The shows after that point are mostly horrible, and not worth watching. Occasionally, there's a gem like "Barthood" (S27E09), but in truth, the show should have ended on May 18, 1997, when the show finished its eighth season.

The Flintstones was cute, but the animation was quite limited, and the scripts were never as clever as the classic era of The Simpsons.

The Simpsons has some of the ugliest, worst looking animation I've ever seen. It looks like a 5 year old created it. The Flintstones animation isn't elaborate, but is far more pleasing to the eye than the crap ugly animation of The Simpsons.

The Simpsons scripts have never been clever, including the early seasons. The Flintstones scripts overall are very good, many classic episodes, a few episodes aren't too great but those are in the minority. The Flintstones started off as basically an adult cartoon, but became more kid friendly after Pebbles and Bamm Bamm came along.

The Flintstones by a million miles. It's one of my favorite cartoons. I tried watching The Simpsons one time years ago and could not stand it.I also agree the animation on The Simpsons is terrible. That was a big turn off as well.

The Simpsons (first eight seasons). Honestly, I quit watching around season nine, and think it's ridiculous that it's still on, but I can't deny how good those early seasons were. "The Flintstones" is fine and all, but I'm afraid "The Simpsons" is better. My opinion of course.

Love the Flintstones, but I literally grew up with The Simpsons, so my vote has to go to them just on childhood nostalgia alone.

The Flintstones, without a doubt. The amazing thing about the Simpsons is that it keeps getting renewed, considering that its ratings are horrible.

But then, most FOX shows have horrible ratings these days anyway, so that's not saying much. The last episode got a 1.6 in the 18-49 demo, which really isn't that bad these days.
