Default Jumped the what?

Did Frasier "Jump the Shark" or "Bone the Fish" or whatever the current term is?

Well first of all, I think these phrases have "Jumped the Shark".

The phrase "Jump the Shark" is used to describe an episode of a TV series that defines the point where the show has strayed irretrievably from it's original premise and quality.

A show doesn't "Jump the Shark" because characters or situations evolve. It does so when characters degrade and become caricatures of themselves and when gimmicks take the place of quality writing. This never happened on Frasier, even during the lean years.

Jump the Shark: A comedy show about the experiences of a group of young adults and a family, set against a backdrop of 50s nostalgia, degrading into a stupid farce, where a leather jacket and swimsuit clad character jumps over a tank full of sharks while on water skis. The show got there not by growth, but through the total abandonment of it's original premise. And, a total decline in quality. I think halfway through the show they were all wearing modern 70's-80's hair styles and clothes, with the audience screaming every time a character entered the scene.

A corporation bought the jump the shark website and changed it from social media to celebrity gossip. Someone started a replacement website and called it Bone the Fish. The meaning of the name:

"Bone the fish is a play on words.*"Bone"*meaning Screw (or another 4 letter word starts with "F") and*"Fish"*meaning Shark."

Some think the meaning of the name is immature and stupid. I wouldn't argue with that, and mostly continue to say Jump the Shark.

Yeah, I got that. Did you think that was what my post was about?

Please try to keep the posts on the topic of "Frasier". You are welcome to comment on why you feel that Frasier "Jumped the Shark" but make sure it deals with the show itself and not a discussion of the phrase or definition. Thanks.
