Eek Larry whispers something

In the episode where Beaver has to write a composition about his mother. After Beaver finishes reading his made up composition about his mother being a dancer, etc, and is just getting ready to sit down, Larry whispers something, or just says it real quietly, if it's what I think he is saying, it was obviously not scripted and wasn't caught, I even had my wife listen to it and she said what I thought it sounded like.

Now I don't want to say it because I don't want that to subconsciously be what people hear. So if anyone gets a chance to watch that episode, watch for it in that scene.

I'd never noticed it before, and it may turn out to be totally innocent.

LOL, I just watched the episode on the DVD, and it sounds like Larry says- "Ooh god damn". LOL that's funny, I hadn't noticed it before either. Shame on Larry, swearing in the classroom. Mrs. Rayburn should have punished him.

Yes! That's pretty much what we thought he said! I never noticed it before, but now it's all I'll pay attention to when I watch that scene.

So if two people thought he said the same thing it must be correct. If only I had that recorded.

Speaking of unscripted dialogue and sight gags, I saw something peculiar in Beaver's IQ Test, the one when Beaver is worried about being dumb. While taking the test there's a girl behind Beaver and to his left. First she's using right hand then she's writing with left then back to right. Same girl.

If anyone hears something different, then by all means let me know.

Makes you wonder what Rusty was thinking or reacting to.

And the IQ one you're referring to, that's season 4? I'm going through the DVDs so I'll keep my eye out of the ambidextrous girl.

I think in that episode, or another season 4 episode, they showed Beaver had his hand up, then they cut to another shot, and when they went back to Beaver, he had the other hand up.

In another episode, later, Beaver was talking to Richard on the phone, and the exact same thing happened, a hand change.

Rusty Stevens must have ad-libbed that line, I doubt it was written in the script for him to say god damn.

The episode director should have noticed what he said and re-film the scene.

Yes, it's part of the director's job (or maybe the asst. director) to pick up off-script errors. Kids are probably more likely to make mistakes than adult actors. I've seen kid mistakes in other shows that made the final cut.

Maybe Rusty Stevens forgot where he was for a moment, forgot he was filming a TV show episode, thought he was really in school inside the classroom, so he slipped up and said what he said. I don't know what happened, but this is a good theory anyway.

We all knew Larry was a bad influence on the Beav. This swearing incident clinches it! Where did Larry disappear to? Ward and June paid the Mondellos to leave town and stop corrupting their sweet boy's mind!
