A few things about him.
June asks Wally "what sort of a man is he? Wally says he's the kind of guy who drives a convertible but doesn't put the top down. He should have said "He's the kind of guy who gets a dye job to look younger." Mr. Blair seemed very ill at ease the way he sits at the desk not knowing what to do with his hands. Also it was Blair's fault for being too lazy to make up a new test and using one from years ago. Beaver asks if he should go to the principal's office and Blair says "No Beaver I don't think so." I don't want the principal to know I'm lazy. Gilbert says Beaver shouldn't go tell Blair how he got the 96 because you're a friend of mine and I don't want you getting into trouble. But yet he told him to make a face in the class picture, try out the kite and use Ward's golf club. |

We can assume Gilbert was being insincere here - he really didn't want to get in trouble himself. I enjoy any chance to see the fine character actor Wendell Holmes, who played Mr. Blair in addition to two other characters on LITB, including most memorably Andy the Handyman in "Beaver and Andy." |

I was just going for a few laughs. Anyway that's what I always thought about Blair. I really liked Holmes as Andy.

About getting laughs, I like to do that, too; or point out inconsistencies. It doesn't mean we don't like the show, it's just to provoke some discussion.

Thanks Buddy yup that's what I like to do too. I think of these things while watching. I've seen each episode so many times that I look to find other things I might've missed. I always love how Blair gives such an old quiz that had to be 5 years old. My mother was a teacher and always made up new tests. I have to say if I were given a test I had just studied I wouldn't say a thing. Not my fault.
Hey stevea saw you over at my other fav show, Andy Griffith. |

I prefer Holmes as Andy over his teacher role, Beaver and Andy is one of my favorite episodes.
