Would anybody here happen to know what the production code series Desilu had used for The Lucy Show (1962-1968), as would be seen on the clapboard/slate?
Here is what I know of this so far: a. For the 1966-67 season, the Desilu production code was represented as 61SS-(E)EE, where "SS" is the number assigned to a specific TV series (viz., 49=Star Trek and 61=Mission: Impossible) and "(E)EE" the number of episodes in the series made so far as given in production order (viz., 6149-03 being the production number for Star Trek episode 1x10, "The Corbomite Maneuver"). b. The series code for the 1967-68 season, early on, was represented as 51SS-(E)EE (which followed the 61SS-(E)EE mold of the 1966-67 season, but a new number 71 for the SS part of the code represented Mannix), but after Gulf+Western's takeover of Desilu was finalized in July 1967, it was changed to 60SEE, where "S" again is the number representing the TV series and "EE" being the number of episodes made so far; for The Lucy Show the "S" is given as 1 as it was the only show that Desilu produced in the 1967-68 season to have had over 100 episodes to date (viz., 60153 is the production code for episode 6x15, "Lucy and Viv Reminisce," the first official episode of the series to be made by the newly-incorporated Paramount Television). c. After Paramount Television's new activities were fully phased in, for the 1968-69 season the production code was represented as 60SSS-(E)EE (40SSS in the late 1980s), where "SSS" is a specific number assigned to the TV series, and "(E)EE" being, again, the overall number of episodes produced (viz. 60034-76 is the production code for Mission: Impossible episode 4x03, "The Controllers (Part 1)," which was the first episode from that season to be produced). Thank you, Ben |
