a question about a movie...HELP ME! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I am DESPERATE...this has been bugging me so much...

I don't know if I'm stupid or just not getting it, but at the end of The Blue Lagoon (with brooke shields) when the baby eats those berries, did he die? and did the 2 main characters die as well after they ate them? HOW DID THE MOVIE END? This was completely unclear for me...

anyway, I doubt anyone will know the answer, but if you've seen the movie and know then PLEASE reply.. thanks

The original Blue Lagoon had a rather open ending.

However, in the sequel "Rerturn to Blue Lagoon" thier little raft is found by a ship. Both Richard and Em are dead, ( I guess they didn't want to be in the sequel) but thier son is alive.

yeah, I thought that too, but why was Paddy's name Richard in the sequel? and I thought that a different ship found them at the end of the first Blue Lagoon...

So that's why the sequel always confused me to no end. I thought it was the original characters the whole time. I guess I haven't really seen the beginning of it.
