Mismatched shows that your stations aired back to back? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

My ABC affiliate aired Night Court followed by American Gladiators in the 1990-1993 timeframe. That was a big mismatch for sure. Did you have any syndicated shows that aired back to back that were a big mismatch?

They are an hour apart, but my FOX affiliate for awhile has had an Andy Griffith hour at noon and Jerry Springer at 2PM. Infomercials air between them. Last year The Middle led into The X-Files for a few months on my My Network TV affiliate. And this year they will air Heartland leading into Scandal Sunday nights.

I live in Western nC, so my ABC station is WLOS/13.

The NBC station, WYFF/4 had some mismatching shows too, reruns of St. Elsewhere followed by Sale of The Century during the 1988-89 season. These days, WLOS has Rachel Ray followed by Millionaire and Jeopardy- and that's close to a mismatch as i can think of these days.

I remember back in the mid 90s, a local station (not sure which one) aired "Newhart" and "Step by Step" back-to-back in the afternoon.

Mama's Family and ALF strike me as pretty mismatched. And ALF and Hogan's Heroes are too, other than they're both lousy.

I can add a few more

The NBC affiliate once had Return to Peyton Place followed by Bonanza. A soap opera, followed by a western. The same market had The Munsters after Return to Peyton Place too. a soap opera followed by a sitcom. How to Survive a Marriage would also count. too, since it also preceded The Munsters.

back when i was a kid and lived in ca ktla channel 5 at one time aired reruns of f troop followed by reruns of sha na na needless to say that combo did not last very long

For a while my Fox affiliate was leading in with Seinfeld for a hour then segueing into a block of Burn Notice. My CW affiliate around the 3am time frame goes from Bob's Burgers to Impractical Jokers to Forensic Files. They all have some kooky programming slots now that I look at it.

My local TV station in Memphis ran The Pink Panther (the classic cartoons), an episode of Sanford and Son and then Professional Wrestling.

It was common in the early 90's on independent stations. I kind of miss it too! I remember WGBS paired 'I Dream of Jeannie' with 'Gimme A Break' for a short while with a ladies of laughter theme.

Anyways, it sure beats marathon programming, and schedules of just trashy talk shows and court room shows.

I would of loved the Memphis pro wrestling fan. I mean I get Ring Of Honor on NBC after SNL, but that's because it's a Sinclair Media owned station.

I watched it as a child and teen and was part of growing up. The wrestling show was idiotic fun, and it was basically a live action cartoon. Thankfully YouTube has multiple clips and full (Memphis) Championship Wrestling shows with Lance Russell and Dave Brown.

I used to find it strange but maybe strange in a good way when MeTV used to air Cheers. Cheers was a 90's show and Me TV had much older shows around it.

Logo is doing this now with Married With Children. It's airing it in marathon like blocks but around Three's Company and Laverne & Shirley.

The only reason I can figure how MWC fits into Logo is a pretty loose connection- Peggy Bundy's look (her hair).

I remember at one point in time, MeTV showed That 70s Show and Scrubs. They also showed 3rd Rock from the Sun, but I guess you can give that show a pass since a majority of its run was during the 90s.
