The Winslow House from "Family Matters" is Getting Torn Down
"Family Matters" Home to be Demolished
by Maureen Lee Lenker Sept. 21, 2017 Chicago is losing a little piece of television history. The Lincoln Park home that served as the exterior for the Winslow house on "Family Matters" is being demolished, EW has confirmed. The City of Chicago Department of Buildings issued a permit for its demolition on Sept. 19. The house, located at 1516 W. Wrightwood Ave., served as the Winslow home in exterior shots on the ’90s sitcom and played a prominent role in the show’s opening credits. Reportedly, the house is being replaced by a three-unit residence and the entryway will pay tribute to the location’s history with framed photographs of the house and the "Family Matters" cast. http://ew.com/tv/2017/09/21/family-m...se-demolished/ |
