Default Reading Rainbow

In 1983 Reading Rainbow made it's debut with the message that it was a show that taught children all about reading and encouraged children to discover the world of books. Hosted by Levar Burton who would later gain fame on Star Trek The Next Generation Reading Rainbow featured a topic and then various celebrities would read stories related to the topic and then various children would discuss various books related to the topic of that day's show. In 2002 Reading Rainbow got an updated image and a brand new intro and theme song performed by R&B singer Chaka Khan. It's a shame that Reading Rainbow got cancelled because I believe Reading Rainbow should be revived because kids love to read and Reading Rainbow would do great in a new version on PBS

It was actually the late 90s that got the brand new theme song and intro.

If a Reading Rainbow revival was to air on PBS I bet it would encourage a new generation of children to learn to love reading because today's children aren't interested in reading much because they would rather play on their tablets and listen to audio books and play video games. I watched Reading Rainbow as a kid and just watched some episodes on Youtube a minute ago and it's hard to believe that Levar Burton is a big believer on the importance of reading to children and I truly think PBS should think really seriously of a Reading Rainbow revival because it would help children get interested in reading again

Hi, Bestie! Yes Reading Rainbow was a great show. Do you think Levar Burton would host it again? He was good on that show. Who else do you think would be a good host for it if they bring it back?

Its been over 35 years since Reading Rainbow first debuted and the original version was the huge classic.
