Thumbs up

What if?

Lets you pair up ANY two NFL,MLB,NHL,NBA or NCAA teams and have the computer simulate the game!

Even gives you play by play!

Man.....the hours you could waste here

That is a cool website, thanks for sharing it.

On my DOS computer I have some cool sports simulation games. My favorite is a pro basketball game called Big League Basketball, I have every NBA season from 1986-87 to 2003-04. I'm soon going to run a replay of the 1995-96 season, I'm curious to see if the Bulls will win 72 games but I think it might be Orlando that wins 70 games instead of Chicago, I'll see how the season plays out.

I also have a NHL hockey game with my two favorite hockey seasons, 1974-75 and 1975-76. Also have a MLB baseball game but I haven't played that one in a while.

That's the best thing about these sports simulation computer games, when the unexpected happens and the underdog wins. If it played out exactly like the real season all the time, there'd be no suspense, no excitement, that wouldn't be good.

The sports simulation games I play turn out close to the actual seasons, there are some teams that overperform and a few that underperform, overall the result comes out close to the actual season but not exactly the same.

Except the Jets. Anyone can win but the Jets.

This Big League Basketball game that I have is pretty good and it's easy to play, all I have to do is set up the teams with the five starters and seven reserves, and program in the positions I want the players to play. The computer plays the games and gives me the results. There is a home court factor built into the game, so teams generally play better at home compared to on the road. And just like in the real NBA, sometimes games go into overtime, double overtime, and on rare occasions there can be a triple overtime. When I replay a season, I turn the injury option off because I want the teams to play all games with full rosters.

Started my replay of 1995-96 yesterday, full slate of games on the first night of the schedule, all teams were in action except for Miami. The games went mostly as expected except there were two surprises, Golden State beat Houston and Dallas beat San Antonio. 10 games on the schedule for today and I'll run those tonight.

Would be interesting if someone did a team match on that site, and when they saw who won WENT OUT AND BET $5000 on that team to win AND THEY DID!!! (on the real game with those 2 teams)
