Default Los Angeles to host 2028 Olympic Games

Los Angeles will host the 2028 Olympic Games, it was announced today by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It will be the third time the event has been staged there following the games of 1932 and 1984. Paris will host the games in 2024 and both cities will join London as having organized the games three times. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/par...-a3634401.html

I was at the 1984 LA games but I don't plan to go again. You haven't been ripped off in your life until you've been ripped off at the Olympics. That being said, all in all I enjoyed it.

Oh No

Why not New York or Chicago? It seems that when the U.S. gets the Olympics...It's usually L.A.

This is the 3rd Time L.A. has the Olympics whereas St. Louis was the host city in 1904 and Atlanta in 1996.

NYC does not need the Olympics. You need a lot of minor venues that are easy to get to and a lot of open space. If NYC had the games you'd have some events on Long Island and some in New Jersey and it would take hours to travel in between and you'd miss the events. Sure you have big stadiums but you need venues for volleyball, weightlifting, gymnastics, judo, wrestling, boxing, handball, archery, a velodrome for bicycle racing and a hundred others.

The only thing Chicago would be good for is shooting.

That's ALL we need here. Like it isn't already crazy and hectic enough in LA! Oh well, it's 11 years away. Why worry about it yet? But I say NAY to this!!!

They sure like to plan ahead. 11 years seems a bit extreme.
