Rosalie Totzie should have been the 5th Sweathog

I really like this show now but it would have been even better if Rosalie was a regular. It needed a female cast member besides Kotter's wife. If they had given her a bigger role Debralee Scott might have stayed on Welcome Back, Kotter instead of going to Mary Hartman. They also wouldn't have needed to add Beau in the 4th season when John Travolta left.

I remember on Robert Hegyes' website he said the writers were always trying to fit in a female Sweathog (the network even asked for it) but ultimately they just enjoyed writing for the guys more and never could make it work. He did say Debralee was the best though.

Did the same thing with Angie Grabowski (Melonie Haller). She didn't last either.

I think part of that had to do with the fact that Melonie Haller wasn't much of an actress. Pretty girl, but it felt like they were trying to fit a round peg into a square hole.

Debralee Scott was a better fit, as evidenced by her scenes with the sweathogs in the early shows.
