TV Cross-over Sitcoms

Many sitcoms will have characters from other shows pop-in.

When I grew-up, we had Steve Urkel join Full House as a cameo. And on Mr. Cooper, Michelle Tanner had a part on the show...Jeff Franklin produced BOTH Full House and Mr. Cooper.

Any other good examples of sitcom cross-overs?

Well there was Golden Girls, which then spun off the occasionally seen neighbor Dr. Harry Weston on to Empty Nest. Empty Nest in turn then had it's own spinoff The Nurses, about the nurses and some other doctors that worked at the same hospital in Miami that Harry Weston did. All 3 of these shows did a crossover. It concerned a hurricane hitting Miami and the characters from all 3 sitcoms were seen in each of the respective shows.

Mad About You crossed-over with Seinfeld, then Friends crossed over with Mad About You.

I don't know if this counts but once Carl Reiner guest-starred on MAD ABOUT YOU as Alan Brady from THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW.

Speaking of Steve Urkel, he also crossed over onto "Step By Step" the same night he was on "Full House". It was part of a multiple show crossover event.

Other shows,

Growing Pains produced the spin-off "Just the Ten of Us" and several characters from "just the ten of us" appeared on "Growing Pains" first.

Ray Romano appeared as his "Everybody Loves Raymond" character Ray Barone on an episode of "The Nanny."

"The King of Queens" featured frequent crossovers from the cast of "Everybody Loves Raymond", as the shows both aired on CBS on Monday nights. Most notably Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton appeared as their ELR characters, who were said to be friends with the Heffernan's, Carrie and Doug from King of Queens.

Fiver characters from "Cheers" crossed over to NBC's "Wings", Frasier, Lillith, Cliff, Norm and Rebecca.

In the mid-1990's ABC did a Las Vegas themed cross over event featuring Grace Under Fire, Coach, The Drew Carey Show and Ellen.
