Exclamation Why do they have that little window in the box of spaghetti?

You know - in almost every brand and type of pasta, they have that silly little plastic window on the front; but I ask, why?

I picked to form an emotional bond and name your spaghetti before taking it home!!!

But seriously that is a good question?? I never really thought about it before , but yeah why is there a window in the pasta boxes? Maybe to see the thickness of the spaghetti?

So you know exactly what you're buying. You've got to keep your eye out; a lot of IMPASTAS out there.

I never really thought about that. I suppose it's to let you see the size of the pasta.
P. S. I really liked that "impasta" pun! That was cute!
