Robin, have you been contacted to potentially host this?
http://decider.com/2017/08/22/unsolv...s-end-of-year/ Weigh in here-- thoughts on this, guys? Obviously, I'd love to see this happen, but the cynic in me thinks it's never going to come to fruition. |

Robin Warder, duh.
![]() I joked about this a few months ago, but my second vote would be for Eric Braeden. You may know him as Robin Scherbatsky's original father on How I Met Your Mother. Or as John Jacob Astor from Titanic. He's got a hell of a voice. |

Sweet! I just hope the new stories are in-depth and well profuced, and not speedy trial sized versions. In other words, more Stack and less Farina.
And for the love of god... NO MORE FAKE TELECENTER. |

Eh, I kinda want to leave this series alone. (let it rest in peace)
When Farina picked it up, it was something, but it was not with as much bravado as the Robert Stack days. Today we have so many true crime options (John Walsh's series, for example, and also an entire discovery channel dedicated to true crime). I have found (IMO of course) that the oldest seasons of the UM are the most enjoyable for me. Anything after season five, I watched with less attention and less suspense. Perhaps, maybe, because UM at its infancy was a one of a kind production for that time period. However, there have been shows that have been picked up after a couple of decades, for their cult fans, that have been met with warm reception. One of these would be Absolutely Fabulous (BBC), who offered four new episodes in 2013 or so, years after the original series was cancelled. If UM did something like this, maybe a four part series in 2018, I would be more than happy and eager to watch it. However if it turned into another weekly slot television show on ABC/CBS/ or NBC during prime time, I do not think I would enjoy it as much (especially if they also added newer lost loves, and Science/Med topics). And I believe I would much rather see UM dig up the older cases and conduct follow-up investigations on their original segments, than to broadcast newer stories that other broadcasters are currently doing. |

Dennis Haysbert is the best possible (and realistic) replacement I can think of.

If done right I think it would make a killing regardless of if it's streaming or on a network.
The true crime genre has made a comeback and all indications based on both reviews and it recently being expanded to Hulu are that it's doing quite well streaming. Get a host that can at least reasonably approximate Stack, have the same creepy atmosphere and music, a great intro and you likely have a winner. Just none of the unneeded special effects, cheesy metal music, heavy edits and modernization that backfired in The Farina version. Keep it simple close to the classic, but with today's camera technology. |

They'd need a host similar to Robert Stack. But who comes close?
