"Timeless‘" Abigail Spencer has landed a multi-episode arc on "Grey’s Anatomy" as — twist! — Owen’s presumed-dead sister Megan Hunt, a character previously portrayed by Bridget Regan. According to sources, Regan’s full-time duties on TNT’s "The Last Ship" prevented her from reclaiming the gig.

With "Timeless‘" surprise second season not going into production until January, Spencer was available to take on the recurring gig.

Bridget Regan took to Twitter to express love to her fans and celebrate the casting of "Timeless" star Abigail Spencer as her replacement on "Grey’s Anatomy".

Spencer will play Megan Hunt, Owen’s sister on the ABC Shondaland drama. She replaces Regan who could not return to the series due to scheduling conflicts.

“Thanks for all the love guys! @abigailspencer is an incredible actor, tip top lady and will be a BRILLIANT Megan on #GreysAnatomy” said Regan on Twitter.

Abigail Spencer Returning to ABC Drama "Grey's Anatomy" for Spring Episode

Dr. Owen Hunt’s once-long-lost sister is resurfacing again. "Timeless" alum Abigail Spencer tweeted today that she will return to "Grey’s Anatomy" as Megan Hunt for an episode in the spring.

The character most recently was season in October 2017, when she relocated to LA with her son and fiancé. Details of her return engagement are being kept secret.

Ok, fine ... it just seems weird to me that 2 actresses were fired a season or so ago, saying they didn't have room for them or some such? And now they're bringing back characters?
