Something I don't understand after they kill the wolf the girl says she is finally able to say "I love you too Marty, goodnight." is she telling the story as part of her brothers eulogy at his funeral?

No, the kids and the uncle survived in that movie. It was hard for the sister to say she loved her brother because he was a bit bratty and she was often responsible for his care. Her parents also didn't punish him because he was in a wheelchair. The experience of killing the wolf brought them closer together and she realized that she loved him more than she thought.

But the OP is talking about the end narration which is from the sister when she's an adult, years have obviously passed since that experience, so it could have been a eulogy or just her writing her experience down. But we don't know.

I always assumed she and Marty each grew up to live their own lives as adults, apart from each other, and she is flashing back to the moment where they were finally able to put their differences aside.
