Question was there 1 episode that was sad, depressing; made you cry??

I haven't seen all the episodes of TC and although I haven't seen the episode in a long time but I recall thinking it was sad, I think I cried too a little (I cry at almost everything)

Episode 07; Season 04: Old Folks at Home

I think it was that he was told to get lost that did it but again, maybe if I watch it again it won't make me cry even a little.

What episodes were meant to be sad, if any????

A lot of episodes of Family Ties even though Michael J Fox was had a comedic part in it, a lot of storylines were not funny & dramatic.

I can't say that any of the episodes made me cry, though some of the final scenes of the series finale (don't want to spoil anything for you) were sad when I first saw them.

The most "dramatic" the show ever got was in season 4's "Chrissy's Hospitality," where Jack and Janet think Chrissy is dying. Also in season 8's "Look What I Found," when Mr. Furley is talking about a childhood pet of his that was killed. But those are brief scenes and the episodes are otherwise funny.

The most depressing episode for me is season 2's "Jack's Navy Pal," the one where an old Navy buddy punches Jack twice and then walks away without consequences. Doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the series.

The one episode for me that didn't fit in was the Season 5 episode where Jack is sexually harassed and goes to court.
Way too serious for a TC's episode.

There is the Season 4 episode where the trio thinks Furley is contemplating suicide which I don't see as a serious episode.

That episode with Furley I have seen & IMO I think it was supposed to be funny at least parts of it; but some parts were perhaps meant to be not-so-funny maybe it didn't get pulled off as such.

The reason that the Furley suicide episode was not that serious is because Furley wasn't thinking of suicide.
It was another misunderstanding episode, the one difference with it being on a very serious topic.

It sure was sad to see Chrissy Snow talking into a dead phone during season 5. 😨

The episode I found most touching was the one where

Jack: "Janet, I didn't come here to say all those things"
Janet (crying): "You didn't?"
Jack: "No. All I wanted to say was.... may I have this dance?"

Even though I must have seen it like 8 times, I still go "Awwwwww!" when I see this scene.

That episode always makes me tear up. Another episode is when Jack stands up for the overweight lady that he mistakenly serenades and invites her to dinner after his date insults her.

I don't recall any episode of Three's Company being that serious

This show never had a episode about

1. Heartbreak
2. Unemployment
3. Death
4. Eviction

So not sure what would lead someone to tears

"Some of That Jazz" was meant to be kind of heartbreaking for Janet, I think. I also don't care for episodes like that one.

Only when I found out SS was not coming back. The show was pretty lame but for her

it didn't make me cry but I do agree it's pretty sad but it ends on a good note.

Another favorite of mine is I think it's called "Cupid Works Overtime" the prelude to the series finale, the scene in question is when it hits Jack that Janet is getting married and then Jack is fighting to hold back tears when Janet and Teri are crying.

While not cry-inducing, there's a touching moment in the episode where Jack and Mr. Furley get locked in a freezer. At one point, Furley admits to Jack "If I ever had a son, I'd want him to be just like you."
