Default Little Garbanzo Bean

What was the significance of Barbara being called a little garbanzo bean? I never understood that.

IDK; I sort of remember the line, but what episode was it from?

I totally remember the dialogue between Julie and Barbara about this but I don't know exactly what episode it was from!

I think it was more than one, but I specifically remember it in "Where's Mama?", the one where Julie and Barbara were worried about Ann and think she is dead.

Because garbanzo beans are Italian and Grandpa Romano was Italian. So it was a cute little nick name/ term of endearment to call his cute little Grand Daughter!

It's a type of a bean that you would put in soups or a salad!! Same thing or very similar to a Chick pea ! I guess garbanzos are the Mediterranean variety!

But why call Barbara this as a term of endearment?

IDK? I guess the writers thought that would be a cute thing for an Italian Grandpa to call his Grand Daughter? And they probably figured it would be amusing to the audience. Which it is IMO I laughed first time I heard Julie say "You were always Grandpa's Little Garbanzo bean"! And I thought it was cute!

A good "bean nickname" for me from about 18 years old till the present would be My "Little Coffee Bean "because I love coffee so much!!!

I think it came from the episode "The Girls Alone" or was it from "Sisters"?

Maybe both?

Definitely from "Girls Alone" a.k.a. "Where's Mama?". It was definitely a cute little nickname. I was just wondering where it came from and what it meant.

How did this episode garner more than one title? Anybody know?

The ep. where Barbara ran away to Chicago with Bob was just on. The "You were always Grandpa's Little Garbanzo bean" line was in that one! It was funny I just got home and put the TV on and Julie JUST than says it to Barbara ! So I guess it was in a couple or few eps?
