Default "Barbara Plus Two" Sad Ending

In "Barbara Plus Two", Barbara accepts a date from Cliff even though she had just said yes to Bob. In the end, she winds up with no date. I know that she probably got what she deserved, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. I know that she wasn't nice to Bob. She hurt him. Still, I felt for her in the end. I'm proud of how Ann handled it. She probably knew that Barbara had to learn a lesson, but it was painful for her to see her daughter be hurt. Ann was understanding and kind and comforted Barbara. Ann was a good mother.

Ann was a great mother, even w/ her fiery hot temper that sometimes got the better of her. Especially since Cliff wasn't that great a catch to begin with, and then he cheated on Barbara and got one of her friends pregnant!

Not accurate. You can YouTube the episode for clarification. The whole Sally thing happened BEFORE he started dating Barbara.

But he was dating Barbara before this happened? Oh, well, he was still dating her, and didn't tell her about it.And they all lived crappily ever after...

What I find interesting is after this episode Cliff is still refereed to for over a season as an off-camera character Barbara still dates/have contact with but we don't see him on screen.

Scott's availability or "something else"? (When did he and Val break up?) doesn't seem he did much in the 1978-1979 season period and by 1979 he was making films/tv movies/pilots... He only did 6 episodes over a couple of seasons to begin with as it was.

Without memories of the unedited original broadcasts, here's what I have for Cliff mentions after that episode (and remember, Cliff and Barbara are close at the end of 'Yes Sir....', so we never really find out what happened.)

He comes up in 'Jealousy', 'The Broken Nose' and 'The Graduation' for sure.

And I remember being surprised Logo showed a scene from a season 5 episode he got mentioned in that Antenna always cut out, but I don't remember which episode

Yes!! That's funny I just saw the ep. you are talking about! It was" Between Mother and daughter" ! With the guy from Mary Hartman playing the psychiatrist ! Barbara was getting out her frustrations to him about Cliff in the very start of the show!!

Awesome! Yes! That was the scene!

(Let me go edit my post. I was wrong. That was season 5, not 6 )

The uncut episodes are on YouTube I believe from the DejaView airings in Canada. And I wonder if Fetv airs them uncut/more intact than Logo's butchered versions???

The YouTube I watch is from Antenna. If you have Dejaview links, let me know.

(FeTv, I have no idea what versions they air).

It's still odd Scott disappears after but the character doesn't.

Yeah, that's who I use lately. So far everything I've seen from them has been Antenna.

In the fictional show universe, it's makes sense to talk about him every so often. Even Fred got bought years later.

Yeah and I liked Cliff! He really added to the show. He was a good, funny, cute character ! But than I like Mark too! Glad Barbara ended up with a good solid guy and a dentist at that, even if he was a "Square bore"!!!
