Default Wrong scene inserted into "54-40 and Fight"!

TV Land showed "54 40 and Fight" today, and they inserted the exact scene from "Katchoo" where Alice is washing Tiger. This happens right before Tiger winds up covered with the trading stamps. Anyone know if this scene was inserted into the original broadcast, or if the syndicator inserted it to make up for a larger scene that has been cut. Jack?

Default Same Scene

Yea, I saw that scene duplicated sometime back on the TV Land/Nick versions. I don't have verification of whether or not that scene was a part of the original broadcast however. My guess is....yes that scene was included in the original broadcast because the producers knew they had two scripts with scenes involving Tiger having a bath, so to save $$$ they just inserted the Katchoo original scene into 54-40 and Fight. (We need a VHS/DVD of this epiosde to varify this Brady fans!) I can tell you that in "Vote For Brady" they use the same stockpile footage of the audience that they use for "Her Sister's Shadow." I know that this episode ("Her Sister's Shadow") is avaliable uncut on the Columbia House Tapes. You can see how grainy/old the audience footage looks. I am sure that even on the Columbia House Tapes, which are supposedly taken from the original master tapes the difference is noticable. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

The other day when I was watching 54-40 And Fight I noticed that Tiger's bath was from Katchoo. I don't know why I have never noticed that. Because I have seen every episode at least three times. I have seen some episodes more than that.

I noticed it today. Alice says, "I need to see a dog about a bath," and leaves the Bradys arguing over the trading stamps. So the bath scene naturally fits in. But you can tell it's from the other episode, because Alice wonders why he doesn't want a bath, which is out of place.

It was probably inserted sometime after it was shown originally. It would have been easy to film an extra shot of her bathing the dog, without having the out of place comment, if the producers knew there would be two dog baths that season.

TV Land and Nick at Nite don't have the right to insert scenes, in fact I don't think even the syndicator can either, they can just edit out scenes from the original version. The scene must have been shown in the original version, naturally, because they didn't want to re-shoot an Alice giving Tiger a bath scene.

This same thing occured in episodes of The Addams Family. They didn't want to refilm scenes so they just put in scenes from past episodes.

You're right about the bath scene. It ends, word-for-word with the same quote in Katchoo ("What's the matter with you, Tiger? You usually ENJOY a bath, and believe me, this is gonna be a good one!"). However listen carefully and you'll notice they apparently superimposed additional dialogue over the scene (Alice saying "You're getting the floor all wet!")

I was going to start a topic about this too and then I saw this one as I was looking throught the pages. I know every time I see that I ask myself why the heck did they put that in there?
