WB picks up "Family Affair" remake-yuck!
WB Net starting its own 'Family'
May 08, 2002 It's time to dust off Mrs. Beasley -- "Family Affair" looks poised to make a comeback next season on the WB Network. In a strong vote of confidence, the WB has given the go-ahead to producers of the Turner TV/Pariah pilot to begin hiring writers in anticipation of an official pickup to come by next week when the WB unveils its 2002- 03 lineup to advertisers in New York. The new take on the 1960s series stars Tim Curry and Gary Cole. The WB last week gave a similar endorsement to its Amanda Bynes starrer "What I Like About You" from Tollin/Robbins Prods. and Warner Bros. TV, in addition to doling out a formal 13-episode order to the WBTV drama "Everwood" (HR 5/6).
