Rudy's line seemed innocently naive in the 80's but in 2017 it is reality! :O
When Rudy innocently tells Clair, "Check the door! It could be robbers!" The audience laughs because they were thinking,"Come on, robbers don't knock on the front door!" This was in the 80's. Now, in 2017, Rudy's "innocent" warning advice doesn't seem "innocent" anymore! It's spot on! That's EXACTLY what current robbers do! They knock on the front door and pretend to be workmen and case(Surveys your house for a later robbery) the house. They leave doors and windows unlocked p and then come back and rob the house when you are not home. Experts say that every day when you are leaving your house, check/lock EACH door and window to prevent robberies.
