Why was Beaver never in Cub Scouts and for that matter Wally was not in Scouts until he joined at 12? All the kids I knew that were in scouts ( boys and girls or young men or young ladies) from 5 or 6 or 7 and was in the scouts until 11 or 12 or until 18 when Life(either) , Eagle, Silver or Gold.

Sounds like it was convenience for story. I don't think they ever mention Wally or the others being in the scouts after that episode, and Beaver never did join when he was 11.

But yeah, the boys could have joined the Cub Scouts when they were younger, I think the minimum joining age is 7.

I sometimes wonder whether the Scouts/Brownies are registered trademarks or something. Think about the number of shows that have kids in all kinds of different kid organizations, EXCEPT Scouts.

Maybe LITB had to pay for that one use/mention. (Maybe it's like singing Happy Birthday--when they had to pay for the rights to use it, most sitcoms were too cheap and opted to sing something else).
