Default Like button

I wonder if a Like button feature would work. Basically a way to let another poster know you've read and/or enjoyed their post. A lot of times I've read an interesting thread or post, but I don't really have anything else to add, so I just move on and the poster may never know anyone read their thread because it got no replies.

I don't know how/if vBulletin would handle such a feature but it's just a thought.

I think that's an awesome idea. I feel the same way you do about it. I think it would work.

I suggested the same thing for the reason when I first started here

(At another site I post at it even lets you see who liked it, if the total doesn't get too high)

They should also have an Ambivalent button.

I'm all for it as long as a 'dislike' button comes with it.

I can't wait to start giving those out.

In my opinion, adding a like button, dislike button, or anything else related, would not be a good idea. I think it would cause problems. This is a message board, not Facebook.

It's on practically all the other message boards I belong too. Never caused a problem.

I think a like button would be OK, but a dislike woudn't!! I think it would hurt people's feelings if people were giving their posts a thumbs down cause everyone is entitled to their opinion. Unless someone is being mean or rude, posters shouldn't give other posters a "dislike"!

So I think like button, yes OK,even though I'm not that thril led with that idea!!

Nay on a dislike button!!!

To me it's almost like we already have them.

= like
= dislike

But that artificially adds to my post count, whereas a like button wouldn't.

I agree with most of the sentiment about the dislike button. Personally I see that as causing more harm than good, for the reasons Bonnie mentioned.

There's no point in having a 'like' button without a 'dislike' button.
