Default finale

Hi everyone. I’m organizing a Trivia Night charity event for my local parish. One of the categories I’m trying to have is “Series finales.” I was wondering if anyone knows what the last 4 or 5 lines of the final episode were and what the scene was? Any help you can give me will be great. Thank you in advance.

Steve

Depending on how exact you want the dialogue to be, here is the basic idea.

The finale was a two-parter. Blanche's Uncle Lucas (played by Leslie Neilson) came to visit, and Blanche fixed he and Dorothy up. They found out about it, and decided to trick Blanche into thinking they were getting married. The game went to the end of the first show, when Lucas *really* proposed to Dorothy, and they were engaged.

The final episode featured the wedding plans, the girls deciding where they were going (or staying) and Stanley "kidnapping" Dorothy on the way to the wedding. After the wedding, Dorothy and Lucas were packed for the honeymoon, and Dorothy said her goodbyes. This is where I'm not sure of the exact dialogue, but you'll get the idea

Dorothy: There are no goodbyes. I will never forget you. These are the memories that will keep me warm when the nights are cold... I love you

Dorothy goes out the door, but returns through it again a few seconds later.

Dorothy: Oh, this is crazy. I mean, I have a honeymoon to go to. I love you. Always

Once again, Dorothy leaves. The girls look around the room, waiting for her return. Dorothy runs in again through the lanai door and grabs the girls again.

Dorothy: You're my sisters... always.

Dorothy walks out the door for the last time. They all look at other doors (kitchen, lanai, bedroom, front) to see where she will come in next. Then, Sophia realizes she is gone and begins to cry. They all hold each other and the show ends.

Wow Jayman, that's great. I'll try and find the exact dialogue, but this really helpful. Thank you again.

I'm glad someone can recite the last few lines from the final episode. It's just such an emotional farewell that I'm usually too chocked up to remember what they said!!!

They showed the final two episodes of The Golden Girls tonight on Lifetime. They included some footage that has been edited out in previous showings, such as when Sophia said her hamstring was torn while walking down the aisle and when Lucas said "What the heck, I do too." I wonder why they decided to include the cut footage? At any rate, that ending still gets to me. One of the best and most emotionally satisfying series finales ever, along with the final episode of Mash and Cheers!!!

What time was this showing?

The reason I ask is because I am starting to wonder how much longer the show will last on Lifetime, and I think I'd better start taping. Since the final episode was aired, I can start with the pilot and get the shows in order (as best possible).

Thanks... Jim

The series finale episodes aired tonight on Lifetime at 7:00 - 8:00 PM, EST. I hope that Lifetime is not thinking about taking the Golden Girls off the schedule... we'll have to form a petition if they do!!!
