Default Video w/ad for the first UM episode!

(MODS: I know there's a sticky saying no threads with links to YT videos w/segments, but this doesn't contain a segment, only a brief ad for an episode. Nonetheless if not allowed, please delete this thread.)

Stumbled across this clip on YouTube. At about 2:20, there's a 10-second ad for the first Unsolved Mysteries special, hosted by Raymond Burr. Not sure whether it's for the original airing or a rerun, however. Thought y'all would like to see it.

And for you young 'uns, Kentucky Fried Chicken is what is today known simply as KFC.

That was good to see! I also like seeing the 80s "TV" as it seemed like such a simpler time in TV...I miss that!

Back when commercials were actually clever without being "in your face" and crude.

Foghorn Leghorn!!

Was that Tim Allen at the 2:05 mark during the Matlock commercial?

Looking at the date of that commercial, I was in 1st grade at the time. Not only was TV simpler at that time but it featured more talented people and not tons of famous for being famous nobodies.

There was about 3-4 hit sitcoms and 2 popular dramas every night of the week. There was no endless Real Housewives of ______ arguing their many face lifts off or Kardashian family enjoying the equivalent of winning the lottery because of a sex tape.

No, that was Timothy Busfield of thirtysomething and Revenge of the Nerds.

I guess I'll go ahead and give a brief rundown of how I found this clip anyway. I have this strange preoccupation with nuclear war movies like The Day After and Threads, so I started looking up videos of old EBS tests. This led to other "advisory" clips showing up in my "recommended" list, such as this one - a "parental discretion advised" warning from KTXL in Sacramento when they used to show movies late at night in an unedited format. I noted that the station was from Sacramento and started doing more searches for KTXL on the off-chance that I could find a news clip or a "tonight at 11" ad for a news broadcast talking about the EAR/ONS, which is how I found the clip with the UM ad.
