Ted Danson's salary for the 1992-93 (final) season was $450,000 per episode.
Kevin James' salary for the 2006-07 (final) season was $500,000 per episode. WTF? That is such an insult. Back in the 90s, times were different economically, whereas after the new millennium, top-billed TV stars were hitting the $1M mark regarding salary negotiations. So why was Kevin's salary still stuck in the 90s? Also, keep in mind that "The King of Queens" was a spinoff (HIS show) where he was the title character, executive producer, producer, writer and consultant. Kevin wore many hats on that show, as opposed to Ted Danson who had just one job: actor. In his defense, he received top billing, and therefore was the glue that held "Cheers" together. But he was not a title character. |
