I wondered why Beaver was in the high bunk. Wouldn't it have been safer for him to be low?

I had the high bunk. I was the younger kid too. Not sure why we got the top bunk.

Those two would have had a lot of money in their school account. They had saved over $31 and had enough in the account to draw out $20. I remember I had $7.20 in my school account and no more. Do they still have school banking or did that go away with milkmen and clotheslines?

They didn't even have a ladder did they? Beaver had to step on Wally's head to get up onto the top bunk.

I would just think it wasn't practical to have a young kid so high up. Kids were always falling out of bed so imagine falling 5 feet to the floor. Ouch!!!

Probably not as painful as falling out of jungle gyms and other playground structures onto bare asphalt during those pre kid-safety years.
