"Code Black's" Michael Seitzman Named "Quantico's" New Showrunner
"Quantico" Taps New Showrunner for Rebooted Season 3 as Additional Regulars Exit
by Lesley Goldberg June 21, 2017 ABC's "Quantico" has a new top agent. "Code Black" creator Michael Seitzman has been tapped to take over as showrunner on the Priyanka Chopra starrer, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Seitzman replaces "Quantico" creator Josh Safran, who exited the post at the end of season two and will remain credited as an exec producer and consultant. Seitzman, who has an overall deal with "Quantico" producers ABC Studios, has been working on the season three reboot for some time. His plan for the third season includes a major cast shake-up, with regulars Yasmine Al Massri and Pearl Thusi exiting the drama. Original stars Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Johanna Braddy and season two addition Blair Underwood are confirmed to return for season three. Original star Aunjanue Ellis and Russell Tovey are not expected to return in a full-time capacity. "Quantico's" shake-up comes after the procedural scored a surprising third-season renewal, largely on the back of strong international sales (thanks to Chopra's appeal) and a lucrative Netflix SVOD deal. Despite rumblings of a move from New York to L.A. to take advantage of better tax rebates, production will remain on the East Coast for "Quantico's" abbreviated 13-episode season. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...s-exit-1015830 |
