Kim Raver to Return as Teddy for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14

Kim Raver will reprise her role as Dr. Teddy Altman on "Grey's Anatomy" this fall.

She will not be back full-time and will appear in a guest arc during Season 14. The exact number of episodes in which she'll appear has not been released.

Teddy left Grey Sloan in Season 8 after her good friend and military buddy Owen (Kevin McKidd) fired her so that she'd be able to pursue her dream job at MEDCOM.

Raver hasn't appeared on "Grey's Anatomy" since, but the Season 13 finale set up her return when Teddy helped identify Owen's missing sister Megan overseas. Teddy then made sure that Megan would be transferred to Grey Sloan, so it's likely she'll accompany Megan on the long journey back to Seattle.

Teddy apparently has some unfinished Season 14 business at Grey Sloan Memorial. TVLine has learned that Kim Raver is bringing her MD character back to "Grey’s Anatomy" this spring for a multi-episode arc.

She returned earlier this season to flirt support her longtime BFF, Owen (Kevin McKidd), in the wake of his sister Megan’s (Abigail Spencer) quasi-resurrection. Teddy will presumably be free to pursue a romance with the now-single Owen, although it’s unclear if that’s co-showrunner Krista Vernoff’s plan.

Kim Raver Upped to Series Regular for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 15

Following her character’s surprising return in the recent Season 14 finale, Kim Raver is joining the veteran ABC medical drama full-time as a series regular for the upcoming 15th season.

Raver, who was previously a series regular on the ABC medical drama in Seasons 6-8, returned to the show for a guest arc in Season 14, reprising her role as Dr. Teddy Altman, the former head of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital.

The arc culminated in the Season 14 finale, in which Teddy agreed to come back to the hospital as interim chief of surgery while also revealing she was pregnant.

“I am thrilled to reprise the role of Dr. Teddy Altman as a regular,” Raver said.

“Returning to Shondaland with the incredibly talented Krista Vernoff, Ellen Pompeo and the amazing cast is heavenly. I have a special place in my heart for Teddy and feel very lucky to have the opportunity to continue her story.”
