Default "Ditchin' The Do-Do"

LITB doesn't have too many LOL lines, but this is one of them.

Don Juan Beaver has one too many dates, and Eddie comes up with this. Great writing!

We have the straight as an arrow Cleavers--Eddie is the perfect counterpoint.

Also saw Don Juan dancing to that cheap generic music at the end. I'll bet Mathers just couldn't wait to do that scene.

That was funny! I was watching this morning on METV!

IDK? Was it just me or was Melinda NOT so much prettier than Peggy? I personally thought Penny was prettier. Well at least cuter and nicer! Melinda wasn't all that IMO and she kind of was controlling and not nearly as sweet as Peggy! I preferred Peggy over Melinda who he should have taken to the dance !

He ABSOLUTELY should have taken Peggy. And he might have had a chance if he wasn't on the phone, breaking the date with Melinda, when Peggy called him. And Peggy then called Whitey and made a date with him! Poor Beaver!

BTW, Veronica Cartwright (Angela's sister) played Peggy, and in earlier seasons played Violet Rutherford.

Yep!! I thought that was her!

I remember Eddie's opening line to Beaver where he said "What's the matter Junior? You get drummed out of the Mouseketeers?"

Don Juan Beaver did have some funny lines. This was the first time I didn't cringe, watching Beaver dance. He's got the beat and did a better job than Wally twisting in Party Spoilers. I also thought Jerry does a better job of being convincing than Tony. As I watch Tony in Season 6, I see him acting the same in every scene. His head doesn't move but his body makes a lot of jerks. After Beaver lost that head nodding every time he spoke, he got better. Ken was always a breath of fresh air, very good comedic actor.

That Melinda was a nasty little so-an-so.

I'd like to see her and Mary Margaret battle it out over a boy. If it was Beaver we know he'd be in the pony leagues while the girls were in the World Series.

That scene where Beaver was asking Wally for advice: Wally's standing there making like he's combing his hair. Not very convincing.

Yeah and keeps sniffing through his nose before he speaks. Sometimes I think Tony hated playing that goody two shoes character. He seems very self conscious talking to Ward and June. He was a role model and had no choice but to act so adult.

I thought that Melinda looked more like a teacher at first. She looked about 30 and was miscast. She turned on the charm but when she got crossed she turned into Glenn Close’s character from Fatal Attraction. Marlene Holmes was sweet next to that South Carolina vixen.

Me-TV reran "Don Juan Beaver" this morning, along w/ "Summer in Alaska". The generic music heard at the end was also heard in "Beaver Joins a Record Club" and probably some other Season 6 episodes.

I hate that generic stuff. If I'd been in charge I'd have gotten some budget money for at least one Beatles or Rolling Stones song.

Or maybe instead of Wally mentioning "Chubby Chadwick" in the record club episode, he could have mentioned Chubby Checker and put on The Twist or Limbo Rock (Limbo Rock was released in Oct. 1962 and would have been popular at the time).

You mean you didn’t want to hear “Crying, Sighing and Dying For You”, “My Wild Irish Geisha” and “You’re Driving Me Ape You Big Gorilla.” All possibly gold records.

What about that beat? I'm sailin'!

Who was the million seller group on that swingin' instrumental? Billy Stewart?

Or:

June: That's just a twist record. (Chubby Chadwick, perhaps?)

Wally: Every tenth song they give the news. That's how Lumpy found out about Cuba.
