I wasn't sure where else to post this, but if the moderators feel like it should be moved somewhere else they're welcome to do that.
I have a question about Janet Jackson's TV acting career (just curious), before she became a huge singing superstar. I know she became a cast regular as Penny on Good Times (I was a kid then myself, she's only few years older than me and that's when I first became aware of her but I didn't know yet she was a member of THE Jackson family) and guest starred in some episodes of Diff'rent Strokes as Willis' girlfriend Charlene. Does anybody know if she acted in any other TV sitcoms or dramas during that time? Like I said I was just wondering. Thanks. Other than those two shows I never saw her in anything else myself. Ed. |

IMDB has her complete film/tv credits. She was in the short lived "A New Kind of Family" and 23 episodes of "Fame."

Really? I must've never saw that episode. I'm sure I'd remember Janet Jackson being on The Love Boat. I watched a lot of it, but obviously not all the episodes Haha.

Janet has sporadic roles on episodic TV during the late 1970's and the early 1980's, but once her singing career took hold she clearly put acting on the backburner. Her film career has been sporadic as well, with only five feature films in her entire career; Poetic Justice in 1993, The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps in 2000, Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married in 2007, the sequel to that film Why Did I Get Married Too in 2009, and For Colored Girls... in 2010.
