Lol Uncle Billy's Visit

MeTV did some snipping and cut out Uncle Billy being called by the theatre manager to come down. He leaves the newspaper all crunched up on the floor. When Beaver and Billy come home it's neatly folded on the table.

Default Uncle Billy's Visit

Yeah Billy was napping by the phone. I saw that they had cut that out.

I laughed when Wally asked about washing dishes with a hose in the woods. If he hadn't asked, we would have!

I love Uncle Billy, wish he had been in more episodes.

I don't watch anything with Uncle Billy. Not sure why I do not like him, but I do not.

A really good character. Mentioned in several episodes, only in 2.

Funny how June doesn't much like Uncle Billy in the first episode because of his bragging and embellishing. He also disappoints Beaver but in this other episode Ward has no trouble having Uncle Billy stay with the boys. However June does say that the boys were with Uncle Billy before out fishing. So he must have made other visits.

Too bad we never got an episode in which Uncle Billy met Aunt Martha and the boys were hoping FINALLY an adult would put her in her place but they actually wound up liking each other (though not necessarily romantically).

That would have been funny those two meeting.

I've thought about that for a fanfic topic before. But it seems my own fanfic writing days have slowed down, and I don't stay with a thought very long any more.

Anyway, there is an episode of My Three Sons which is very much like that scenario. After Katie gets married to Robbie, her Aunt Cecille calls to say she's right there in their area, and Steve [Fred MacMurray] insists that she come and visit. Katie is not thrilled with this because she knows her Aunt Cecille is one to interfere; she has her own ideas of what's proper and what isn't and she loves to push them onto others-- to the consternation of the Douglas family, especially crusty old Uncle Charley. But beyond that, I won't tell what happens. Yet, since MTS is quite comparable in 'flavor' to LITB, you can almost transcribe the characters of Uncle Charley and Aunt Cecille to Uncle Billy and Aunt Martha.
