Has this show been Americanized yet? I think it might be able to work I've never seen it. Anyone know?

Rosanne bought the rights to it some time ago. so far nothing has happened with it, as it had to be tamed down so much it was hardly recognizable. The talk was that Kirstie Alley would be Eddy and Jeri Hall would be Patsy.

Thank goodness the American version of ABFAB never got off the ground! It would pale in comparison to the original, which is so hilarious!!!

My parents used to watch this show. I never really cared for it much, though. But, I'm sure it's a great show.

Yeah, that's the great thing about British sitcoms
Over here, provided the programme is shown after 9pm you can get away with pretty much anything. |

Was English actress Jane Asher in any of the shows? I recall hearing she was friends with the actresses that played the main characters.
Thanks in advance

Jane Asher was never in AbFab, however she appeared in French & Saunders as herself - the third series of F&S (1990) had a running gag about Jane Asher, and she visited the duo in the final episode & presented them with custard pies in the faces.
And yes, I think the Americanised version of AbFab never got off the ground because after removing the drug/alcohol references at the request of the networks the programme was unrecogniseable - the same criticism was made of the US version of Men Behaving Badly - I heard a critic describe the US version as "Men Who Sometimes Forget To Do The Washing-Up". |
