Does anyone on here have Facebook? What do you think of it? Have you had any bad experiences while using Facebook?

its mostly a big waste of time with too many useless opinions, politics, and trolls; and as my nieces and nephews point out, it's something that only old people use.

I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. I log onto the site and I end up on Facebook for hours (mostly looking for bands to LIKE). So I try to avoid logging onto Facebook as much as possible since I am addicted to looking for new bands to add

UPDATE: I ended up deleting my Facebook profile. I had enough

I agree. When I used it, the site was really boring and after the second time, was done for good and never went back there ever again. And I am not going to either.

Didn't really have a lot of friends on there and when I tried to request people to be my friend, they all said no whenever I tried.

I use FB just for family, it's a good way to keep in contact with the ones that live in other states.
My daughter, nieces, and nephews all still use it, so it's definitely not just for old people.

I also think it's a great way to keep in touch with people.

Agree with you there. My mom has Facebook as well, but it's under my old account and she only uses it to play games with her coworkers.

Dad on the other hand, attempted to do Facebook very recently, but only got past the signup process. He then gave up and decided that it was not his thing.

Like all things, it's not good or bad inherently, it's all in how people use it.

A lot of people use it in what I would say is a negative way; to promote themselves, to reflect vanity, to make their lives seem important and to make themselves seem like some sort of celebrity.

OTOH, many people use it in a very positive way; to keep in touch with distant relatives, friends or to reacquaint themselves with people they knew long ago.

There are lots of fun groups there, as well as groups that do good things, too.

It's all in the way you use it. I am a person who values his privacy, a lot, and so I don't often post what I'm doing, who I'm doing it with, milestones, etc. It just seems like egotism to me. But, I do like to participate in several groups, some of which reflect my interests, and some of which are just made up of old classmates, etc. So I use it, but I watch HOW I use it.

I've had very bad experiences using it, and now they are haunting me and have been for a couple years now.

I mostly use it to say hello to friends and talk about Gilmore Girls in a few fan forums I belong to. My Goddaughter uses my profile to play Farmville because I have over 400+ friends.

I too use FB to keep up with friends and family out of state. I almost completely ignored FB during the presidential election. People ,from both parties, were really getting on my nerves I didn't join FB to be preached at.

I use it to keep in touch with people from high school. I think it's an ok tool. You can't make it get the best of you.

I had the same experience. I blocked some people, and really lost respect for friends from both sides of the aisle. I wish there was an option to block any political posts, but I haven't found one yet!
