I thought it was rather strange in Bachelor at Large when first we see Wally and Lumpy throwing the football in the yard and they just have on their shirts. Later they are sitting at the dinner table and both Wally and Lumpy were wearing their jackets. I would think Ward would have told them to take them off.
In Tell It To Ella Beaver's letter has appeared in the paper. The Cleavers are eating dinner and the doorbell rings. It's Mike and Kevin coming over at mealtime to tell Beaver on account of the letter they now cannot go out on school nights. So why are they allowed to go to Beaver's house on a school night? It's been discussed before but why would Wally put two boxes of ice cream sundaes into the regular part of fridge and not the freezer? Later Beaver is eating one and it looks like it hasn't melted like in Wally's Weekend Job. Last but not least in Beaver, the Hero, Gilbert and Whitey ask Beaver why he's at school since he's such a big hero. Beaver's answer "Oh cut it out Gilbert and Whitey." Why not say "Oh cut it out guys." |

I thought it was odd that Mike and Kevin came over together. And where did these guys suddenly come from? We'd never seen them in any other season.
Also, I had noticed the ice cream thing before. I would think someone involved in the production would notice the ice cream belongs in the freezer. Again also, that Gilbert and Whitey line bugs me every time I hear it! I often wonder whether actors have leeway to make suggestions. I know the director can and does make changes...the director or actor should have changed this. |

"Cut it out, Gilbert and Whitey": The writers probably wanted to remind the audience who these characters were. Even at the cost of making the line sound stilted!

OK, here's another one. Just today I watched a 5th season episode "Wally's Chauffeur" where Wally can't drive and has to let his girl type date drive him to the school dance. Well once he and the never before seen girlfriend arrive Lumpy and 2 other strangers (supposed Wally friends) are there to make fun of him. My first reaction was, Where's Eddie?? and who are these other 2 jackals? Eddie's absence in this scenario was sorely missed and never mentioned as to why Eddie's nowhere in sight.

I thought the same thing, "Where was Eddie?" I think they used Mike and Kevin in Clothing Drive. I just realized maybe it was Friday night and not a school night. I think Hugh directed Beaver, the Hero so he should have noticed how weird that sounded " Oh cut it out Gilbert and Whitey."
In Beaver's Autobiography why does he think Betsy is a zombie? He immediately liked Mary Tyler so why act like that towards Betsy especially since she liked him. He falls for Donna Yeager in the gold locket episode so why be so creepy around Betsy. Beaver should be so lucky. |

He also called Betsy a kook three times (not to her face]. Once is enough, twice is too many, but three times?

Yup three times ain't a charm. He also called her a goon. Hey how about in Sheepdog, a hard to watch episode when like all of a sudden Beaver's hair is a bit long so you know what, cut it!!
How about "Sheepdog, Sheepdog, Sheepdog!" Catch the way they look at Beaver when Shirley is crying. The expression on Bailey's face is priceless. Isn't a teacher supposed to get both sides before handing out discipline? And Betsy "You dopey little dope." Dumb dialogue. |

Yeah, I had that thought too...cut them bangs off! But no, we gotta get some glama-sheen.
Next episode, no sheepdog! |
