TV TBS Renews Snoop Dogg's "The Joker's Wild" Reboot for 2nd Season

Snoop Dogg to Host "The Joker's Wild" Reboot on TBS
by Patrick Hipes
May 17, 2017

Snoop Dogg has been set to host "The Joker’s Wild", a reboot of the iconic 1970s and ’80s game show that TBS will launch later this year. The half-hour series will be refreshed with new games and a comedic edge, the network announced as part of its Upfronts presentation today in New York.

The new version, from Sony Pictures TV in association with TBS parent Turner’s Studio T, will be set in the rapper’s “own casino,” with the big slot machine that anchored the Jack Barry-hosted versions now accompanied by mini-games replacing trivia questions.

New features include giant dice, playing cards, streetwise questions and problem solving.

Snoop Dogg and "Good Morning America‘s" Michael Strahan are executive producing along with SMAC’s Constance Schwartz-Morini, Snoopadelic Films’ Ted Chung and Vincent Rubino.

I’m a huge fan of game shows and The Joker’s Wild was my favorite show growing up,” said Snoop. “It always matched the flavor and personality of Snoop Dogg. Me and the Snoopadelic team are excited to bring back the show and put my own personal touch on it. Get ready, ya’ll, it’s gonna be a wild ride!”

I agree with you. Snoop Dogg hosting a game show is not a great choice. At all.

I saw the preview for the new version of The Joker's Wild while watching Seinfield on TBS and I cannot believe how in the world did they choose Snoop Dogg to host this new version of The Joker's Wild because this game show is a game show classic for everyone to enjoy and TBS should've chose someone like Dave Foley or James Corden or even Conan O'Brien to host this version of The Joker's Wild rather than Snoop Dogg. The other thing I saw on the preview of the new version of The Joker's Wild is that the classic gameplay is ruined and isn't as well as the original version of The Joker's Wild or the 1990 Pat Finn version. I predict that TBS will cancel this version of The Joker's Wild very soon after five or four episodes

I was only 8 when the original debuted, but it was my favorite quiz show. Jack Barry scared me, he was very strict, but that's why I liked the program. I was always afraid that Mr. Barry would yell at the contestants for being stupid. Obviously I had some issues as a child. LOL!

I like my propaganda really blatant. TBS never disappoints on that. Some of the things he has said and done would disqualify many people from getting a "job" like this.
