Question Ward Always Finds Out!

Name a time when Ward found out some information that the boys didn't want him to find out. Whether it's from a person or newspaper.

I'll start with Beaver's Skates when Ward found out by the newspaper that the Ice Palace was closed.

Ward found out the boys got the tire Beaver "flatted" fixed, when Eddie Haskell thought he was holding for Wally, but instead Ward came on the phone.

When Beaver fell into Miller's Pond when Wally and his friends made a boat, Ward found out, since the boys put the shoes on the furnace, and there was a smell of drying leather.

When Beaver replaced the golf club Ward had broken, he found out the next weekend, when it was mysteriously fixed.

As the thread says, he always finds out. The only time I can think of when he didn't find out is when Beaver overflowed the tub, and the kitchen ceiling plaster fell down. The only way he found out is when we assume the boys told him, when they were hollering for him to come upstairs.

Ward found out about Lumpy driving back from the track meet with Wally, Beaver, and Eddie, in his car going on the Camelback cutoff that Lumpy drove over a puddle and stalling the engine from Bill Boothby who saw the boys pushing the car back on the main highway.

In Train Trip Ward found out the boys tried to ride for free because they spent all their money on junk. They had the conductor pay for their tickets and will pay him back. Ward found all this out from George Haskell who was on the train.

Ward found out Beaver and his friends called LA and spoke to Don Drysdale on his phone when he saw it in the paper, thanks to June.

Ward was very angry when he comes back from an overnight trip and intercepts a call from Lumpy in Wally's Car Accident. Ward's headlight got smashed and Wally had it fixed. Lumpy spills the beans by telling "Ward" not to mention him being involved. Ward says Wally won't have to as Lumpy already did.

Right when Fred read off the names Baby Ruth, Augy Dickey and Kiki Gehrig. Larry certainly wasn't careful with the names. Beaver was a real victim in that one.

How about when Wally and Beaver called the fire dept. to get Benjy and Puddin' out of the bathroom. Ward found out from Mr. Donaldson.

When Beaver got on the wrong bus and ended up back in Mayfield, Ward found out because Wally told him (but let's keep it from June--we know she'd have a cow...). You gotta give the Beaver high fives for resourcefulness in this episode...a 9 year old getting himself back home in a cab, paying the driver and then berating him for trying to collect a tip from a little kid.

That cab driver was the same cabbie who came to pick up a disgruntled Larry when he came to spend the night but then decided he wanted to eat not go to his grandmother's. Mrs. Mondello's mother must have been ancient.

IMO, it would have made more sense if Ward just ONCE didn't find out about something- if for no other reason, than to give the boys the idea that they COULD get away with stuff instead of doing it with zero history of NOT getting caught.

True! We came close when Beaver solved his problem with the modeling contract by going to Ward's attorney friend. Although Ward found out (when the attorney called and told him), it was after the fact.

Well, another one (probably the one that started this pattern)--Train Trip--on the way back from Riverside (is that right?--I think I made a mistake before on where Aunt Martha lives) the boys ran out of money due to buying too much junk, and only had tickets to Bellport. Beaver told a pack of lies to the conductor, but Wally eventually came clean. The conductor bought the tickets to Mayfield.

Unbeknownst to the boys, George Haskell just happened to be on the train, and relayed the story to Ward. So once again, Ward finds out...he ALWAYS finds out!
