​"Scream Queens" Canceled after Two Seasons

Fox has canceled "Scream Queens" after two seasons, Fox Chairman and CEO Gary Newman announced Monday.

"Over the course of the two seasons, it feels like it was a complete story," Newman said Monday during the network's upfronts conference call. "We have no plans to go back there to tell more stories."

This one is not a shock. I really enjoyed the first season and thought they did a great job pushing the envelope. They dropped the ball horribly with season two. I still watched it and it still had a few moments, but overall it was a disaster.

Focusing the show so heavily on the Chanels the second season did it in - they were just not interesting enough and the plot was super weak. Maybe if they had switched it up with more new characters and did a true anthology series like American Horror Story (or if not that, the summer camp theme like originally rumored for that season.), it might have had a chance at a third season.
